Eberhard & Co. took part for the second time in Watches and Wonders Geneva, an event that continues to affirm itself as the most important international appointment in the world of haute horlogerie, attracting over 55,000 visitors.
The Maison welcomed guests to its booth, designed around Eberhard & Co.’s emblem—the Shield: a strong and distinctive symbol, representing authenticity, security, and solidity, and embodying both the heritage and the present identity of the Brand. Inside the space, visitors had the opportunity to admire the Maison’s most emblematic creations and, in the museum section, a curated selection of precious historical timepieces from the Museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
On the occasion of the Salon, Eberhard & Co. unveiled Contodat, a new collection that encapsulates the Maison’s essence of sporty elegance. Comprising two models—chronograph and time-only—each with a 39 mm case, Contodat marks the Brand’s first current collection conceived and designed exclusively with an integrated bracelet.
The collection is inspired by a timepiece born in the second half of the 1970s, designed by then-President Palmiro Monti, just a few years after taking the helm of the Maison in 1969. In an era marked by the profound crisis of traditional Swiss watchmaking, challenged by the rise of quartz, Monti responded with vision and boldness, creating one of the first watches of the Brand’s “new era”: a mechanical chronograph with dynamic lines and a vibrant aesthetic, featuring a contrasting orange hand.
This timepiece represented a true act of courage—a non-conventional response to the quartz revolution, one that projected the excellence of traditional watchmaking into the future with originality, a touch of lightness, and a flash of colour.
Almost half a century later, that same pioneering spirit lives on in the new Contodat collection, which channels its energy and inspiration. Symbolising this legacy is, once again, the orange detail on the dial: a fil orange, an ideal thread that unites past and future.
